Apple today released a media advisory which primarily stated that they have more US based iPad orders at hand so people from rest of the world should wait 1 month for its release in their respective countries. Now it be released in the May 2010 end but pre-orders will be starting from May 10th(some good news).
Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad™. We have also taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.
Faced with this surprisingly strong US demand, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of iPad by one month, until the end of May. We will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders on Monday, May 10. We know that many international customers waiting to buy an iPad will be disappointed by this news, but we hope they will be pleased to learn the reason—the iPad is a runaway success in the US thus far.
We all know that Apple hasn’t given a clue on when iPad is arriving in India. But if you want one really bad, there is a option : ebay. iPad is selling like hot cakes on eBay and you can easily order one for yourself in India or any other other country outside US for that matter.
Prices for 16gb iPad are falling anywhere between $600 – $700(approx Rs 31,500) . For 64gb you may have to cough up somewhere around $1000(approx Rs 45,000). Price is absolutely high from the one being sold in US currently, but well that’s we have to pay it to be a early adpoter.
Anticipating the iPad craze, ebay is already ready with iPad specific sales page : iPad.ebay.com , where you can track all the iPad listings.
