Close on the heels of the facetime equipped iPad sighting here comes another news from Apple Insider that says testing for iPad 2G is already in advanced stages.
A version of the tablet device with a built-in video camera and support for the new FaceTime video conferencing standard has already progressed to the advanced testing stages, according to a person with proven knowledge of Apple’s future product plans.
The article also states that we can see the refresh in the iPad specs sooner then we expect(might be in the holiday season this year perhaps). After launching the facetime and camera’s in the iPod Touch 4G, it was obvious Apple would do the same with the iPad’s. Lets see how this work out, considering Apple is still struggling to meet the demand for current version of iPad in the international market and introducing a newer version into the market will only burden them with overwhelming demand.
If they are making a 7 inch iPad with camera’s, well I personally know good amount of people who are waiting for something like that, hence no doubt it will be sure shot success. I hope Apple is ready to meet people expectations.
As I discussed here in iPad 2G rumours, that’s how cool it will be to have facetime for iPad as well. Now it seems that iPad/iPod touch might be getting facetime after all. BGR reports that issue of iPad not having a phone no. will be solved using a Apple ID. Facetime for iPad will use a Apple ID registered with your iDevice and that will allow others to start a FaceTime call using your email address.
Now all we need a camera on iPad and we are good to go or atleast a webcam supporting iPad.
