This review has taken some time to come out but I wanted to enjoy the app as much I can before sending it out in the open. So ladies and gentlemen let me present it to you “Airman” iPad app, you friendly Augmented Reality app which lets you fly a plane around the world. There is not much of a story line per se, which again is a good thing atleast for me where you just dive into action without thinking of why exactly we have to fly a plane around wonders of the world and also getting involved in some dog fights along the way. Moving on to graphics, in simple words they are amazing, which is a must for this kinda of app, once you start playing you can’t help but notice the visual depth given to the elements, structures and sequences in the game.
Now comes the most important part on how to play the game, the plane you need to fly will not move on its own while you sit on that couch, it needs your help to manoeuvre around the buildings and specially during those dog fights. As you may have experienced in Playstation Move or MS Kinect, you need to get up and move around in your room to fly your plane, which well is pretty exciting(might not seem much fun for couch potatoes like me, but believe me its worth it.)
Lastly I thanks Amphisocial for including the dog fights, without that it would have become stale after moving around, but the bullets and enemy planes never let you get bored. So, if you just got your new iPad or a seasonal iPad user, don’t mind tripping off once in a while, do give Airman a try, its fun, it keeps you engaged and gives you total worth of money gaming experience. You can download Airman from iTunes Store Link, going to cost’ya $0.99.
In coming time you will see a app named “Beatsurfing” hitting the app store which let you design your own MIDI controllers giving you more independence on how you create music. The app will let you swipe across the instruments rather than just tapping or rather encourages it. The app will be released under Vlek Records and should be out soon. Do enjoy the app in action below :
