After the release iPad the tablet market is super hot and buzzing with new updates everyday. So, thought of compiling a list some promising iPad competitors.

1.HP Slate

One of the most discussed tablet out their in market. I did cover HP slate vs iPad some time back. I was impressed with the specs and was waiting for its release. But then HP bought Palm and there was news all around that HP Slate will be killed as all the further tablet development will be done on the webOS platform. It was a disappointing news indeed but the latest rumors suggest otherwise. It seems that HP Slate is coming to market after all. Lets see how it performs when being launched into customers hands.

2. Blackberry Tablet

There is not much news around the tablet about specs and stuff, apart from few rumours suggesting that it will be launched coming this December. Really want to see how this performs and offers when it hits the market.

3. Samsung Galaxy Tab

Samsung will diving into the tablet market with their Android based Galaxy Tab. Agreed the Samsung Galaxy phone series is surely making waves around the world and getting some great sales numbers, waiting to see how Galaxy Tab turns out.

4. Toshiba Smart Pad

Toshiba recently showed off their Smart Pad prototype. They didn’t share much details except that it will come with a USB and HDMI port. Toshiba have been churning some good numbers of laptops over the years, lets see how their tablet looks like. Its supposed to be released around October this year.

5. Lenovo LePad

Another laptop biggie trying its hand at the tablet market and its called LePad. Lenovo plans to launch the Android based LePad by this year end. Seems to be having detachable screen with the keyboard.
